Why not drag it out one more time. 

I thought I would show you my attempts at getting all 3 of them together for a few shots in their pretty dresses.  

Getting them all to do exactly what you want at the same time is virtually impossible, I've decided. 

Those two fight like cats and dogs most the time.



The oldest one is usually trying to take my place as mother to her baby sister.

And those two can be the best of friends.

 

I tell ya, with 3 girls, my hands feel pretty full.

 

As does my heart.

The Blossom Dress

This dress is called "The Blossom" Dress. 

Because it has a flower on it and puffs out like a blossom.  Okay, I know it's a stretch.  I couldn't think of anything else.

She sure looks cute in it though, if I do say so myself.

I used these smocking instructions to guide me through. 



You out to try some smocking yourself. 





So easy and fun!  Who knew!

I still have some favorite pics left, so I might have to drag this out into yet another post.  

The Dreamy Beach Dress

I envisioned this dress to be perfect for a slightly breezy day, frolicking around the sandy beach.

However, we don't have much of a beach around these rocky mountains, so you will have to use your imagination like I did.

 

Wouldn't that picture be perfect with an ocean in the background?



This dress was constructed much like my Party in the Back dress, only with ruffles all over.  I drew out a pattern for a basic pillowcase dress, cut it out with some knit, then sewed on waves of knit ruffles. 

 

The neckline was formed by braiding 3 strips of white knit and threading it through the casing in the dress. 




She just loves it!  And I love it on her.

So dreamy.

 

Now I need a trip to California to make it beachy.

The Jane Austen Dress

Anybody been anxiously waiting for my Easter Dresses to be posted?

 I have.

 It will be good to check this off the list (a month too late).  But I think I will drag it out and post a dress at a time, just for kicks.

The first dress, for the 5 year old, has actually been in my head for years.  It suits her well.

I'm calling it "The Jane Austen" Dress.  I've always been inspired by the dresses from her book's era's.  Well, mostly from what I see on movies based on her books.



It's a very feminine and simple dress, with simple details.  Such as buttons all down her back.  If you can't tell from the pic, the fabric type is eyelet and it is lined with a white muslin.

Of course it has an empire waist line, with small gathers at the center, a simple scooped neckline, and puff sleeves.

I am hoping she will want a similar dress when she gets married some day in the far distant future.

It would make Jane Austen proud.

And her momma.

Still Kickin' and Craftin'

Hey faithful tidbit reader!

 It's been awhile huh? 

I'm still here and I have a few thing up my sleeve to share with you yet. 

You see, we are in the midst of trying to sell our house.  What this means is that I have to have it constantly clean for showings that come up almost every day.  Then I have to pack up my kids for an hour or two and find somewhere to take them while people meander my house.  This usually happens at nap time or dinner time.

Stress.

Spare time crafting and sewing has taken the back burner.  I clean non-stop now.  Mostly due to one of my children who has turned out to be a walking tornado.

But I won't name any names.

I love this kid and all her curiosity to bits, but I'm pretty sure I will have my first gray hair by the time she turns two.

 

Here she is pouting by the door, longingly wishing she could go out with her sisters and play.  If she would just avoid the road . . . . . . . .  



As a result of all my constant cleaning, my sewing itch hit hard as Easter approached. 



And I couldn't resist sewing up some last minute Easter Dresses.  But until I find some time to do the photo shoots I have envisioned in my head, I am going to tease you with some sneak peaks.

There is lots of pink and white.

Some shirring.

Lots of flowey ruffles.

And rows of buttons.
